What’s in My Camera Bag?
Some time ago I wrote about choosing a camera bag but, what’s in mine? What should be in yours? Keep reading to learn more.
Camera bags a great! Of course, they hold our precious gear, our tools of the trade. But, what’s is usually in our camera bags? What should we keep there? What shouldn’t we?
My main camera bag is a ThinkTank Urban Approach 15 which usually has… almost nothing! Most of the time, my cameras are stored at home so I pack my bags for each shoot. However, there are a few things that normally live in my bag. What are they?
- Pen – You never know when you need to write something down.
- Small notebook – Just like the previous point, you need something to write on.
- Business Cards – It’s happened many times. I’m in the middle of a shoot and somebody would like to get in touch with me. I give them a card and politely continue working.
- Battery pack – Shoots may take a long time so either my camera or my phone may need some extra juice. I use Fujifilm cameras, which charge through the USB port, so I only need…
- Charging cables – I carry at least two: one for my phone, one for my camera.
- Pocket knife/multi-tool – There’s always something to tighten, loosen or cut on a set, so the pliers and scissors are the most used tools.
- Flashlight – Whether it is to light the way back to the car at night, look for something in the dark, or provide some extra light to a scene, a flashlight helps me every time.
This list may be a bit of a surprise, maybe not, but I like to be prepared.
